Adult Formation
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
Adults (age 18 or more) who are not baptized are asked to contact Fr. Gary Luiten for a discussion about joining the Catholic Church.
Adults (age 18 or more) who missed Confirmation and/or First Eucharist during their childhood/teenage years are also encouraged to call Fr. Gary Luiten.
Individuals in any of the above situations may be invited to join the formational experience known as the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).
The RCIA meets on Tuesdays during the school year at 7 p.m., in the Library. Watch the Bulletin for details.
Catechumens (those unbaptized) will attend formation classes for at least one year and possibly more years. Catechumens receive Baptism, Confirmation and First Eucharist at the Easter Vigil.
Most Candidates (those seeking Confirmation and/or First Eucharist) attend formation classes for 9 months, with sacraments given at the Easter Vigil. However, depending on previous knowledge of the church and sacraments, some candidates may attend formation classes for shorter periods of time and receive sacraments at other times of the year.
If you have questions about RCIA or wish to join a class, please contact Fr. Gary Luiten at 701-282-3321 or email Gary@bscwf.org
